Jeremy Sharman

BEng(Hons) AMIMechE

I have spent a large majority of my career, starting in 2002, at an established and well-respected local consultancy, where the focus of my training and experience was centred around quality of service and thoroughness in design. These are principles that I have carried forward into my standard working practice, and something that we at Sharman Grimwade Ltd are passionate to maintain on all projects in which we are involved.

I have also spent a few years working for one of the larger multi-national consultancies, but it is the qualities of the smaller company with the personal touch, which I feel are important.

Since my introduction into the industry, the emphasis on renewable technologies and their effective integration into Building services systems has grown year on year. I have always had a keen interest in this field, and this is prevalent in my approach to most projects in attempting to innovate; whilst maintaining a functional, yet ‘minimalistic’ solution.

Within my role as a services consultant, I place great importance on the ability to listen and to understand the specific needs of our clients. Similarly, we need to be able to communicate effectively our proposals, to ensure our deliverables meet their specific expectations.

Tim Grimwade

BEng(Hons) MSc CEng MCIBSE

I started my career as a graduate design engineer in 2005, working for a well regarded Cambridge practice. During my experience I have been fortunate to have worked on a large variety of projects ranging from historic university college buildings to highly serviced laboratories.

For me lighting is the most rewarding, and often the most challenging, part of electrical design. As well as being cost effective, a successful lighting design needs to find a balance between energy efficiency, visual comfort, and aesthetics.

I have always maintained a methodical and exhaustive approach to engineering design, and this is prevalent in my working practice at Sharman Grimwade Ltd.

Robin Atkinson

MEng CIBSE

Graduating with an MEng in Architectural Engineering I garnered a breadth of knowledge in Building Services and project management. At Sharman Grimwade Ltd I have been exposed to a broad range of project types and have therefore managed to improve my depth of knowledge and enhance engineering skills across the board.

The sheer variety of projects always bring exciting new challenges across my desk, and I relish putting the finest details into everything; from Schematics to Spreadsheets, to best communicate our plans for each project.

Lindon Henderson

BTEC L4 HNC Diploma

Joining Sharman Grimwade in September 2018, the experience obtained from a practical electrical background has proved invaluable in transferring the skills to an electrical design engineering role.

I am developing further skills in CAD, AMTECH and REVIT as well as fine tuning my attention to detail. With the help of my colleagues and with the plethora of information from Tim and Jeremy, I can see myself meeting the challenges and continuing to grow as I progress in my role as an electrical design engineer at Sharman Grimwade.

I also enjoy the friendly and hard-working environment Sharman Grimwade naturally provides.

Nick Tzinas

MEng CEng MCIBSE

I started working in the construction industry in 2000, conducting designs of building services for a design and build contractor. I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of sectors including high-end commercial projects, sporting facilities, universities, and local councils.

In my post at Sharman Grimwade Ltd I promote the best standards of design, providing solutions with low carbon footprint of the highest energy efficiency possible. We support sustainability by adopting new technologies that benefit our clients whilst meeting the project objectives.

Penny Edmonds

I joined Sharman Grimwade in 2017 as office manager to assist in the day to day running of the business. I see my role as freeing Tim and Jeremy up to do what they do best. I have worked in the M&E sector for over 19 years and was thrilled to be invited to join this friendly but hard-working team where emphasis on quality and meeting the needs of the client prevails.

We offer extensive project experience and engineering knowledge to our Clients with our service focused on attention to detail and quality of output.
