Renewable Feasibility Studies

Often an integral part of any new-build or refurbishment project, a renewable feasibility study can be crucial for selecting the most appropriate, cost effective, and sustainable renewable energy strategy.

The need for a renewable study can be born out of client aspirations to merely reduce carbon emissions, but more commonly is required in establishing an over-all M&E strategy that facilitates Building Regulation Part L compliance, or demonstrating a percentage of renewable contribution to site energy consumption.

Irrespective of the driving force behind the study, our initial focus when evaluating the need for renewable energy technology is to reduce the overall energy consumption of a building using passive measures. Often local planning authorities will request a percentage of a buildings estimated energy consumption be delivered using renewable energy technology. By improving insulation, applying solar shading, or improving building services controls, significant energy savings can be achieved and the extent of renewable energy production can be rationalised.
